JYK, in association with Dar Al Ber Society, a Dubai-based semi government charity organisation, is bringing- The Friday Market, with major brands under one roof for a novel winter shopping experience at Bur Dubai, Rolla Street, Opposite Baqer Mohebi Supermarket, Dubai.

To be held every Friday starting from January 29, 2016,  from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM till May 27, 2016, it will bring an open air weekly marketplace & a unique shopping experience to the residents of UAE.

The primary aim of The Friday Market is to raise awareness about Dar Al Ber Society, as well as the various humanitarian activities they support and facilitate, among the residents of the UAE. Besides, the market seeks to provide an opportunity for shoppers to purchase big brands at discounted prices.

In an effort to promote entrepreneurship and support start-up companies, the market also offers space to small and medium businesses.

Juhi Yasmeen Khan,  the founder of JYK said: “At JYK, we believe that Dar Al Ber Society’s exemplary work deserves maximum attention and support from the residents, which is the reason we have started this initiative. Traditionally, the concept of Friday market has been that of a flea market, with individuals selling their wares without paying much attention to quality. In bringing big brands together and individual vendors under one roof, with high quality and discounted prices, The Friday Market is providing an opportunity for both vendors and customers to support a noble cause merely by selling or buying the products sold. Let’s support Dar Al Ber Society by visiting The Friday Market, so that Dar Al Ber Society can support many more families in distress, save many more lives of critically ill people, and help many more underprivileged children get education”.

Since its inception in 1978, Dar Al Ber Society, one of the first such initiatives in the UAE, has been actively supporting the underprivileged section of the society by paying for their basic requirements such as medical expenses, schools fees, house rent and food. They also supply relief materials to other countries that are suffering from natural calamities and other problems.

The market has already attracted prime retailers, hospitality outlets and service providers such as Carrera, Bossini, Mom & Me, Milton, Tim Hortons, Cool & Cool, Liali Jewellery, VLCC, Fitness First, Prime Medical Hospital and many more to participate.

Among the items sold will be garments, textile, accessories such as jewelry and bags, shoes, books, toys, electronics and household items. Additionally, there will be entertainment activities for children such as fun rides, games, face painting and magic shows. Stalls with live food stations and snacks are also on the offer, ensuring a wholesome fun experience for the entire family.
