Dubai Events & Promotions Establishment’ SHIFTING GEARS

Dubai Events & Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an agency working under the Department of Economic Development in Dubai (DED), held an expansive internal meeting on Sunday to tackle the new developments and responsibilities that were laid upon the establishment through the recent directives of HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai

HH had visited DED earlier this week and met with the Director General, H.E Sami Al Qmazi, along with Laila Mohd Suhail, CEO DEPE, Ibrahim Saleh, Festivals Coordinator General and DEPE senior management in the presence of H. E. Mohammad Al Abbar and several other leading figures in Dubai. The meeting resulted in critical strategic  decisions by HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum that will impact the events industry in Dubai on various levels and will serve to cement Dubai’s position as a leading hub for world class events.

Following these developments, H.E. Laila Mohd Suhail, met with the DEPE team and addressed the entire staff stressing on the need to elevate the efforts to meet the expectations of HH and Dubai’s leaders, hailing at the same time the farsighted vision of HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashed to Dubai being the bearer of the festivals and events industries in the region, thus resulting in winning the prestigious “2012 IFEA World Festival & Event City Award” for the emirate, clinching the title for the second consecutive year.

“that doesn’t mean that we can slow our pace now”, H.E. Suhail said, “on the contrary, we have to upscale our efforts to maintain our leading position in view of the rising competition around us, and with the new responsibilities that HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashed has entrusted us with; its time to shift gears and move forward” she told her team.DEPE is preparing to launch the fifth edition of “Eid in Dubai” – Eid Al Adha celebration, which is expected to paint the city with colorful events and activities and city decoration starting from 15th to 29th October.
